About the Artist
George W. Irwin grew up drawing and painting in a family of artists, eventually earning a BFA in design from UT Austin. After college, his artistic interests turned to music, which ultimately took him to Nashville, writing songs on Music Row for top country and pop artists. Fast forward a few more years and he's back home in Dallas / Fort Worth, and has returned to visual art.
"I'm remembering my way back into it," Irwin says, "exploring landscapes in colored pencil while focusing my point of view and figuring out studio space.
"These drawings are born of time spent in the American West, visions of future escapes, and a study of past and present masters. My hope is that they take you somewhere quiet, open and peaceful."
